Consumers Still Need Enrollment Help

The need for enrollment assistance at trusted organizations is key for consumers needing the security of health coverage. A study conducted by Kaiser Family Foundation finds 18 percent of consumers applying for health coverage accessed consumer assistance. The most common reasons were consumers just not understanding coverage options or how to enroll, lack of internet access or technical difficulties. Consumers also indicated the need for Spanish-language assistance attributed to their request for assistance. With Pennsylvania switching from a federally facilitated marketplace for the 2021 enrollment period, consumers moving to for the first time may need more assistance than in the past. Current consumers will have their information migrated to the new system but will have to register for a new account.
