USDA on Extreme Poverty Counties Found Solely in Rural Areas
The Economic Research Service at the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) studies trends in poverty using the U.S. Census Bureau’s American Community Survey. For the most recent year studied, 2018, there were 664 high poverty counties in which an average of 20 percent or more of the population had lived below the Federal poverty level since 2014. 2020 Faculty Loan Repayment Program
Apply today for the 2020 Faculty Loan Repayment Program!
The Faculty Loan Repayment Program (FLRP) works to increase faculty from disadvantaged backgrounds by providing loan repayment to those who have an interest in pursuing a career at an eligible health professions school.
You may receive up to $40,000 for two years of service to repay your qualifying educational loans. In addition, HRSA encourages a funding match from your health professions school.
You must obtain all qualifying educational loans prior to the application deadline of Thursday, June 25, 2020, at 7:30 PM ET.

To be eligible, you must:
- Be from an environmentally or economically disadvantaged background,
- Have an eligible health professions degree or certificate, and
