This week, HRSA announced a funding opportunity that is part of the agency’s rural-specific response to the opioid epidemic. RCORP – Impact kicks off a new rural opioid treatment and recovery initiative under the umbrella of RCORP, which will focus on establishing new comprehensive substance use disorder treatment and recovery services in rural communities. The program is intended to grow and strengthen a rural network of integrated care for substance use disorder with a requirement that clinical services be coordinated with social support that may include housing assistance, food access, and employment training and placement.
