We are soliciting presentations from a wide variety of professionals doing work that fosters health and wellness for individuals, families and communities. Assessment of Opioid Misuse Risk Among Farmers in the Clinical Setting

Summary: Prescription opioids are often the first-line therapy to treat chronic and acute pain among farmers. Prescribing opioids to farmer populations that may not seek regular treatment or have access to alternative therapies increases the risk for potential opioid misuse. Properly assessing for these characteristics among other abuse or addiction risk factors, is critical in providing treatment that is both appropriate and effective. 2019 Pennsylvania Cancer Conference

April 10 - April 11

The 2019 Pennsylvania Cancer Conference is a 1-1/2 day event to educate participants on Pennsylvania’s cancer goals for the next five years. The Department of Health and its stakeholders are now developing the 2019-2023 Cancer Control Plan. It addresses public health approaches across the cancer spectrum, from prevention to survivorship. The plan's cross-cutting issues such as access to care and genetics also will be discussed at the conference. Registration available January 2019.
