The Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) is excited to announce that coal communities can now apply for economic development funding through their Partnerships for Opportunity and Workforce and Economic Revitalization (POWER) Initiative.

Since launching POWER, ARC has supported 564 projects touching 365 counties. These investments are projected to have created or retained nearly 54K jobs and prepared nearly 170K workers and students for new opportunities in growing industries.
“ARC’s POWER Initiative helps strengthen Appalachia’s coal communities while giving residents a say in the course of their own futures,” said ARC Federal Co-Chair Gayle Manchin.
