November 12-15, 2024
Salt Fork State Park Lodge & Conference Center at Lore City,Ohio
The National Amish Health Conference is the premier continuing education event for evidence based, community led initiatives that have improved the health of the Amish and Plain communities. Attendees will explore the past, present, and future of community health within the Amish and Plain communities. Speakers represent the Amish, Plain, rural, and healthcare communities and will address a variety of disciplines that impact the health of the community in culturally-sensitive manner.
After participating in this activity, the attendee should be more confident in their ability to:
describe an overview of the Amish/Mennonite cultures and how their belief systems impact health decisions.
identify the impact of the social determinants of health on the Amish/Plain culture.
identify at least two innovative partnerships to bridge the gaps between communities and healthcare delivery organizations.
develop health programs that focus on improving the relationship between hospital systems and the community.
Concurrent sessions will address successful evidence-based, community-led initiatives. Presenters will share best practices on their experiences, service delivery and programs within the Amish and Plain Community.
