Join us to advance a national conversation about the economic imperative of upward mobility.
Over two days, the Economic Mobility Summit will bring together business and community leaders, policymakers, researchers, and experts to demonstrate the importance of improving upward mobility in communities and regions to the U.S. economy; identify ways to advance research into actionable strategies; and elevate best practices for community-led, cross-sector collaboration.
The event will be hosted by the Philadelphia Fed, in partnership with the Federal Reserve Banks of Atlanta, Chicago, and St. Louis; The Pew Charitable Trusts; Philadelphia Foundation; and the Urban Institute.

Who should attend? Business and community leaders, policymakers, researchers, nonprofit leaders and philanthropists, and workforce and community development practitioners.

The summit will feature the latest research, highlight best practices to advance opportunity and economic mobility, build capacity for cross-sector partnerships, and provide opportunities for peer learning across regions.
Speakers include:
- Raj Chetty, Director of Opportunity Insights and professor of Economics at Harvard University;
- Patrick Harker, President and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia; and
- Sarah Rosen Wartell, President of the Urban Institute

At the conclusion of the summit, The Pew Charitable Trusts will lead a conversation about economic mobility in the Greater Philadelphia region, including the benefits of a shared economic development strategy. Details can be found on the event page.
